Zen-ness should always be a part of the art practice. This project will be a juxtaposition between TUNING IN and TUNING OUT.

Terms:
Zen: derivative of Buddhism, emphasizing the value of meditation and intuition Line: lines vary by the quality and type. LINE QUALITY: the width or appearance of any line (thick,thin) LINE TYPE: variety of directions and shapes that a line may have (vertical, horizontal, diagonal, curved, zigzag) Color: reflected or absorbed light- color is made up of 3 elements. HUE: the actual name of a color (yellow) VALUE: the lightness or darkness of a color INTENSITY: the brightness of a color
Shape: 2-D geometric shapes (triangle, rectangle, square, circle, oval, diamond) Shapes are limited to 2 dimensions- Length + Width Form: 3-D solid figures (prism, pyramid, cube, sphere, cylinder, cone) Form is limited to 3 dimensions- Height + Width + Depth Value: the lightness or darkness of a color (hue). Value can be created in 3 ways. TINTING: color + WHITE SHADING: color + BLACK TONING: color + GRAY Texture: how something looks or feels (actual, implied) Space: the area around, between, below, above or within artwork. When referring to an object, artists describe space as positive or negative. POSITIVE SPACE: the object NEGATIVE SPACE: the area around the object
