Essential Question: How do we make an artful composition that portrays aesthetics AND meaning?

Learning Objectives: 1. Students will collaborate with the community using the fine arts. 2. Students will work with composition and aesthetics. 3. Students will work with the Elements of Art to practice rendering, and drafts.
Step 1: a. Pick a quote from your favorite literature. Pick a line that has spoken to you or simply stood out. What images come to mind? b. WRITE / SKETCH 3 down on a piece of paper.
STEP 2: a. Pick your top 2 designs b. Do a rough draft sketch of the 2 designs c. Composition MUST be strong
STEP 3: a. Pick your favorite design b. Illustrate that quote (any drawing material goes) * objective here is to create a small piece of art that is meaningful and beautiful.
MUST HAVES/grading criteria : * it must be on 8" x 11" paper * strong composition * well executed design * quote must be written legibly/typed on artwork in quotations + author * your name signed at bottom with year (ex: britt blasdell '23)
