Terms: Acrylic: of synthetic resin and fibers-made from polymer of acrylic acid. Composition: the act of combining parts or elements to form a whole. Shape: an area that is contained within an implied line, or is seen and identified because of color or value changes. Shapes have 2 dimensions: length and width, and can be geometric or free form. Design is basically the planned arrangement of shapes in a work of art. Trompe L’Oeil: French for “to fool the eye”

Tips from the teacher: - draw/paint WHAT YOU SEE, not what you THINK you see - draw an accurate sketch before you paint - make the viewer wonder ‘how’ you created this - the painting must be an extension from the item from nature, mix colors accordingly. - remember, you can always paint over paint!!
